Product Description The Xbox Live Vision video camera integrates with your Xbox Live and Xbox 360, for a more social & interactive gaming experience. It allows you to customize a more personal game feel, by letting you import a unique gamer picture. Players will also control some games with full body gestures, for fuller, real-time gaming immersion. When you aren't gaming, you can send photo messages or chat by video with friends and family over Xbox Live. The dashboard themes offer fantastic visuals that you can enjoy while using the Xbox 360's music player system.

Surprised At The Picture Quality Posted 14 March 2007 As mentioned before, the camera has limited functionality if you're not playing Rainbow 6 Vegas, etc. However, if you want to video chat with another player that also has a camera, this item is very handy. Good, not great, video picture with available lighting. Focus is sharp and the camera is very small so you don't really get distracted by it when you're online. I have it sitting on top of my Samsung monitor.
I bought mine off an EBAY auction for the same price as Amazon.com(I didn't know Amazon had them this cheap) and shipping was free. But, with Amazon.com, you know it's going to work or return it without headaches. I took a gamble and it worked out.
Good cam Posted 06 March 2007 This thing is fine. Does what it does. I don't expect a ton of utility with actual in-game interactivity (superimposing your face on a character's face) -- I imagine most users will use it to interface with other users over xboxLive. USB means it can also work on a PC. Some suggestions:
1) Everything else is wireless on the 360 (controller, networking, racing wheel) so why not have an optional wireless battery-operated cam?
2) I'd like to see it priced a tad downward ($29.99).
3) How about a grip attachment that many of the Logitech (and some others) employ (the thing is so tiny and weightless that it might fall off of whatever it's standing on).
These are very minor gripes.
Excellent product Posted 21 February 2007 is a excellent products, is vey easy and this have a great resolution.
Not a bad way to spend $40, if you're not looking for a new game... Posted 21 February 2007 Okay, so normally, if I'm going to spend $40 on something related to videogames, it's going to be a game. But, to make a long story short, I had a big bag of pennies, and Coinstar wouldn't take their 9% if I got an Amazon gift certificate instead of cash, so I said what the hell, it's not really money, and I picked up the Xbox Live Vision camera. In the end, I'm pleased to own it, and optimistic about its future uses...but at the same time, if you don't have it, you're not missing out on too much. It does a pretty solid job of taking pictures (they're surprisingly crisp) and games like Rainbow Six: Vegas and the World Series of Poker game make excellent use of the technology, allowing you to snap pictures of yourself to map onto your in-game character. It's very cool technology, and if more stuff like that is developed in the future, it might start to approach must-have status. However, aside from use in those two games, it's not particularly useful. Sure, you can set the camera on yourself so that people can watch you look at your controller and press buttons while you play Uno...but the novelty of that wears off quickly, and soon it's just kinda creepy that people are staring at you while you decide whether to play a Draw-4. Also, it's very sensitive to lighting, so while you can definitely get good pictures out of it, your room light has to be perfect. The Xbox Live Vision camera has a couple of great uses right now, and may well have more in the future...but if you're not playing Rainbow Six or WSOP, I suggest you wait on this one until you really have a good reason to buy it.
A better view Posted 15 February 2007 This camera is great, you can easily chat with some of your gaming friends and actually put a face with a name.
