Glinda the Witch Glitters Posted 16 December 2008 This is a beautiful barbie doll. My daughter has the wicked witch of the East as well and loves to display them together with her other barbies from the Wizard of Oz barbie collection. She is 7 and has loved to get these for gifts. She has currently requested the Cowardly Lion for Christmas and the Scarecrow doll for next Easter. It has been a fun way for her to enjoy her favorite movie even more.
Good Glinda Posted 02 January 2008 She's just fine as she is. I also wish her wand would stay in her hand, but it doesn't so we just use a rubber band to hold it. And her clothing is typical of Barbie doll clothes made in China, (or wherever). Of course they'd last much longer if you don't take them on and off. It's really not a big deal as long as the children are playing with them. If you want her to stay in pristine condition leave it in the box and put her on a shelf!
Remember people, it's about the children using their imaginations while playing, not the parents micromanaging and perfecting every little detail of their lives. Overall, she's a beautiful Glinda and I would recommend her to a friend.
Better suited for collectors than for little girls Posted 31 December 2007 This doll looks lovely in the box. Once you remove her from the box, her hair is shabby and matted in the back of her head. The wand stays in her hand only with a rubberband.
The net overlay on the gown is unhemmed and ragged - a detail only detectable once Glinda is unboxed. Her arms are hinged at the elbows - an unusual characteristic for a Barbie doll.
The Dorothy doll makes both a better display and play doll; her dress & hair have none of the shortcomings that diminish Glinda.
BEAUTIFUL GLINDA DOLL Posted 01 February 2007 I LOVE THE WIZARD OF OZ. AND I AM VEYY HAPPY TO SEE THIS SET BEING RELEASED. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT TOYS R US IS ALSO SELLING THIS SET (ALL THE FIGURES SOLD INDIVIDUALLY LIKE AT AMAZON HERE) BUT FOR ONLY [...] PER DOLL. THAT'S A QUITE A DIFFERENCE IN PRICE ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING THE WHOLE SET. OF COURSE TOYS R US DOES NOT SHIP FOR FREE LIKE AMAZON DOES SO I RECCOMEND BUYING THIS SET IN-STORE IF YOU DO GO THROUGH THEM. 5 STARS FOR THIS WONDERFUL SET!
