Our Editorial Review
Product Description Thomas Wooden Railway Systems give little engineers a rich world to discover and explore as they re-create their favorite Thomas and Friends adventure. Thomas is a cheeky, fussy little engine. He's often getting into scrapes, usually by being overeager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. Made of North American Maple, this top-notch wooden toy is elaborately detailed and built to last. Designed for use with your Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway System (sold separately), this Thomas Engine measures approximately 4 inches long.
Editorial Review Thomas the Tank is the signature bright-blue engine in the Thomas the Tank series. He does light yard work and pulls small passenger cars, such as Annie and Clarabel. Based on the award-winning television series Shining Time Station by the Reverend W. Awdry, the Thomas the Tank train system fulfills all of a child's choo-choo dreams. Each vehicle has a different name, character, and face. It is wooden and 2 inches high with black plastic wheels. The magnetic bumpers at the ends of each vehicle make linkup easy. Children will become friends with each one, developing not only imaginative play but social skills and new motor and cognitive skills as they mature. --Sandy Hirsch

Trains get uears of use Posted 25 October 2008 My son got this wooden train as part of a set on his first birthday. He is now eight, and although there's a little paint missing, the engine is still going, and the Thomas trains still hold tremendous appeal. The wooden tracks are nice to play with, although I wish the whole thing were better engineered, so that when you pulled a train around the tracks, they actually stayed on better. In the end, they are pretty indestructible and wooden toys just have a kind of feel that you can never get with plastic.
Excellent little toy Posted 21 April 2008 When I bought it online I thought it was a bit expensive. But it's good quality and my daughter loves it! She takes it everywhere with her and is constantly asking for "Thomas"!
