Fun while it lasted Posted 31 July 2008 This is a great game and the children were thrilled when it arrived. Directions say you can fill the bottom with water or sand. I used water... that may have been the problem. Regardless, on day 2 of playing the entire set fell over and a piece of the top that controls the string rotation to the top or the bottom broke off. You can still play, but who ever is trying to win in the direction of the broken piece has an unfair advantage and the children haven't played it since. I sent an email to the store to see if I could purchase a replacement part, but they didn't offer it. I may try the manufacturer, but I haven't yet.
Swingball can be dangerous. Posted 15 July 2008 The Swingball was well made and easy to assemble. Unfortunately, my 6 yr old grandson (and his sister) could not use it without hitting each other with a racket or the ball. It may be a fun challenge for older children.
Really fun toy encourges exercise Posted 28 April 2008 We bought this toy a couple years ago and is fun for ages 3-adult. It teaches kids how to hit a ball without having to worry about the ball breaking a window or going over the fence. It can be played two a time too and it will help teach them hand eye coordination too.
I gave it four stars though as the only thing not great is that after some time the ball does come off the top spiral, it will not go far and break anything but a slight inconvienance to have to get and put back on.
Completely worth the fun but if they could prevent this on a future model it would be awesome.
Also the way the bottom opens it is very easy to fill with water or sand and refill or clean it as needed.
so far so good Posted 02 January 2008 Bought this for a Christmas gift and the limited amount of play it has gotten from my kids (3 and 2)so far, has been all fun. While their skills with it will develop as they get older, they love trying to use the rackets - or they just hit and "throw" the ball around using their hands instead. We will have to wait until it gets more outdoor use to see how well it holds up though.
