Fun if you have at least 2...for battling Posted 07 July 2008 I got 3 for Christmas six months ago, a green, a blue, and a purple. They look good and are quite durable. They will raise a welt on the skin if a 4 year old whacks someone with all his strength. Realistic (to the movies) looking handles, but none of our handles are truly comfortable to hold for swordplay. I do think that the value of fun, imaginative play, is high in these toys. Have some fun and try these.
Lightsaber Posted 13 January 2007 The grandkids loved these sabers, but I think they would have liked them to light up.
AWESOME! Posted 29 January 2006 I am a star wars fanatic! This AWESOME toy has a green blade you can also buy another lightsaber to fight with a friend. The Revenge of the Sith Lightsaber green and gray is great for any Star Wars fan!
Great for practice, not for authenticity Posted 15 October 2005 I have started to make lightsaber movies recently and at first me and my friends would use the realistic $100 from gamestop, needless to say, this wasnt a good idea, we were always afraid they would break and with such a pricey tag, it would be harder to acquire a second. That aside, we did have many extremely realistic lightsaber duels ;), so it was my idea to purchase some of these cheap ones to duel with so we could beat the crap out of them. When i received them i was slightly disappointed. Luckily i didnt get Anakin's handle (the grey) i held it and it is VERY bulky, if u want a good one get Qui-gons handle (the black) its alot easier on the hand. That was my first complaint, the second was the sloping sides make it very awkward, considering the movies are ramrod straight, but theres no way to get rid of that since it collapses so that wasnt too bad. My main and biggest complaint was the blade size, the handle is a good size but the blade is pathetic, its missing about a good foot and a half of blade. It makes shooting shots alot harder and takes away most of the luster of it. Honestly, if i had known the blade was that short I wouldnt have purchased them, but they were cheap so I didnt lost that much. They are great for kids who dont really care or who are small the blade will seem large to them but for anyone above the age of ten or in the buisness of making lightsaber movies or even adults using them I would suggest finding a different product. Maybe even some of ones that dont collapse entirely, for true lightsaber and star wars fans, the ForceFX lightsabers are a definite must buy even with the price tag, and even if they're only replicas, we have had many successful duels with them, hope this helped, enjoy
