Lots of fun Posted 28 August 2008 Lots of fun, well worth the cost. I got it for my 3 year old son and we spend lots of time him and I building all of the different structures possible with this set.
Best Marble Tower Ever Posted 10 July 2008 These pieces build a solid tower. There are special pieces that make flip-fops, spiral-to-center, and which keep the marbles speed up as they come out of chutes. My son, 10, was absorbed for days.
Not an independent toy for young kids but loads of fun! Posted 15 May 2008 I bought this toy for my son when he was three years old. At that age he did not have nearly the coordination to build a run by himself and also had a bad habit of knocking down the taller, more complex runs when trying to add new marbles. I was hoping/thinking this would be a sturdier version of the snap together plastic marble runs which he was largely able to construct and play with by himself. It is a beautiful set and as long as I am willing to build the runs and repair them when they fall he does enjoy sending the marbles racing down for time on end. I would estimate that this marble run would have to wait until he is possibly six or seven until he could enjoy it independently. If your child is that old I'm sure they will love it, and continue to enjoy it until they are much older. Younger children still enjoy the fun but need help to make it work.
Brilliant Posted 01 March 2008 This is, bar none, the most brilliant toy imaginable. Both of my kids AND my husband and I are compeltely and totally obsessed with it. Once you start, an hour or two can fly by in the blink of an eye. You can't stop! There are endless possibilities and you REALLY have to THINK your way through designing the various slides, especially if you go off the beaten path and try to design your own. A GREAT brain expander for the kids. Incredible creative thinking builder.
It is truly so complex, I am a desinger, so these kinds of things come naturally to me...designing, sculptural problem solving, but whoever designed this is a genius.
Fun to build with kids Posted 18 January 2008 My wife, 2.5 year old daughter, and I have lots of fun building and rolling marbles with this set. It isn't as sturdy as the ones in the store as they seem to be glued, but it is still rather stable when assembled. Be ready to get more though...as you play with this you will want more rails and maybe the teeter-todder.
Also this set comes with a large number of marbles, you'll never be short on marbles to play with...no matter how many you loose.
Lastly the wife loves the box. Keep it, it has pictures inside to show you where all the pieces should go and when finished playing it is very easy to put back in the box and carry the box around by the sturdy handle.
