Pixter Posted 09 January 2008 Pixter Multi-Media System: Black
I bought this for my 2 year old son for Christmas because my step kids all have hand held games and he always throws a fit for them. This was more on his level and also educational. At first I though it would only show what the cartridge had on it then he took it out and started drawing on it. It really has a lot of different things for him to do. It has the ABC's, numbers, coloring pictures, clip art, games and ect. He loves it! I have to take it away from him at night so he will go to bed. He likes playing with all the activities more than watching the clips on the cartridges.
Lots of built-in games and activities! Posted 07 January 2008 We bought this pixter for our 4-year-old daughter. Her sister was getting a Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas, so we got her this so she would have something "similar" but more on her level and not as expensive. So far the pixter has survived the many times she has dropped it. Last year, her grandma got her a V-Tech system and after being dropped twice, it didn't work anymore. Very disappointing.
There are lots of games and activities built into this, which makes it nice. Less game cartridges to lose! We did receive a Spongebob cartridge with it because they didn't have the color of Pixter we had ordered. Very nice of the company to compensate us in that way.
Our 4-year-old is slowly learning how to fully use her Pixter. She's pretty stubborn and won't let us show her how to use it to it's full capability, but she's been able to kind of figure it out on her own.
Great drawing pad, hard to find the games Posted 28 November 2007 I got this for my 2.5 year old DD and she wants to play this everyday! She has a lot of fun trying to learn how to use it - how to change color/pattern of the pen, how to earse them via animated cartoon charactors. She also love the "connect the dots" game build-in to this system. Only problem is the extra games are very expensive and hard to find. I got a feeling Fisher Price may have stop production for all Pixter products. It is currently onsale at ToysRUs for $20. You will not go worng with it on this price!
Couldn't live without it Posted 02 May 2007 If you have trouble dropping your 2-3 year old off at daycare (morning freeplay), send him in with one of these, they just think they are really cool and since it's learning, the teachers don't care. All the kids shut up and watch/share.
This toy can go through it all!! Posted 25 April 2007 Very durable, great to have on road trips. We took it on a 12 hour trip to Miami & the battery life was great. Both my 1 1/2 year old and my 6 year old play with it. It gets thrown around a lot and its still kickin like it was brand new. I highly recommend!
