Product Description Transform Dinoco McQueen into superhero Lightning Storm McQueen to re-create the dream scene from the Disney/Pixar movie, CARS. FUN TOY -BEWARE, IT TAKES BUTTON CELL BATTERIES Posted 15 January 2008 I purchased two of these, one each for my 6-year old and my 3-year old. They have lots of fun with this toy, but I wish I would have been paying more attention when I bought it, because the batteries are button cells, which can get very expensive to replace, so if that's a concern for you, beware. One other point of concern is that it isn't as durable as I would've hoped. My son accidentally dropped it on the CARPET, and the end of the wing broke off, and it's supposed to bend, so you can't just glue it back on. All in all, it is an entertaining toy. I'm just glad I only paid $8.99 for it.
My boys love Lightning Storm! Posted 13 January 2008 My sons (3.5 and 5.5) each received one of these cars for Christmas and love playing with them. They are easily able to fold up and pop the wings out again and love the sound effects.
Awesome Double Duty Toy Posted 02 January 2008 My son wanted this toy for Christmas, and it was the only thing he asked Santa for. We saw it on Amazon, listed at $29.99, with a Sale Price of $20 off! At $9.99 it was a steal, and Amazon lowered the price again before it was shipped, so only invoiced me $8. By far the best $8 we've spent, especially because he was so excited Santa gave him EXACTLY what he was dreaming of. As a car, it's cool enough, but then lift the spoiler, and the wings pop out, and it even shoots missiles up to 5ft! How do you think a 4 year old would react! He was flying it around the room all day Christmas! It is very easy to figure out, and within a few tries, he was able to pop out the wings and fold them back in. Very cool toy for not a lot of dough!
great toy Posted 31 December 2007 This car is of great quality and my son has spent many hours playing with it. The price on amazon was great compared to retail stores so I'm very pleased with the purchase.
Confusing directions, batteries NOT included Posted 30 December 2007 We purchased this for a four-year old who's not really into the Cars movie. But we liked the idea that it transforms to a plane. It does transform, but the directions on how to get the wings out are confusing. And actually popping them out was tough for the child.
The noises it makes are really cute and fun - dinosaur, etc. But they're barely audible. Why? The description says the car comes with batteries But they are DEMO batteries. The instructions tell you to take them out and replace them right away. Then you can actually hear the car's sounds. (Is this a first-time audible toy buyer mistake that all parents are actually prepared for? Felt like misstating to me.)
Also, be aware that the car launches pointy plastic things aka missiles and bombs.
