This doll is just okay. I bought the doll because my last name is Bourne, so I though it would be cute for my daughter. I really do not like the clothing. The material feels icky -- it's some sort of polyester, with a thick coating on it. This doll is always naked, so I think the kids also do not like the outfits.
There is a very small, hard plastic pacifier attached to a ribboon, attached to the outfit. I cut it off immediatley. Within 10 seconds of opening the box, my 1 year old was trying to eat the pacifier.
The doll's face isn't that cute and it is not very cuddly. The care instructions are lengthy and complicated (you can't just throw it into the washer). I figure I will not be upset if this doll is well loved (aka colored-on, beaten, and lost).
My 1yr old does seem to like the doll; she carries it around and such. She seems to prefer her teddy bears (I thinnk because they are much softer). Get a Fisher Price Little Mommy doll. It's much cuter, softer, the clothes and accessories are better, and the care instructions are easier.

I love all of the zapf creations dolls and this one is a must have with the nicest face.. perfect for young girls who you dont want to have a doll that wets, and can be taken into the bath..
