Fun if you have wood floors Posted 28 December 2008 Yes, it's messy. It's sand. It gets everywhere. Keep it on a hard surface - wood, linoleum, etc.
It sticks together well, and the included molds are a lot of fun. Solid plastic construction too.
Please note - there are NO storage containers for the sand provided. Plan to get some Glad disposable boxes or several heavy duty ziplock bags to store the sand in. You'll also want another container to store all the molds in. Would have been a 5-star review if it came with containers and was self-storing.
Very messy Posted 26 December 2008 I had to return this product because it was so messy. I don't usually mind the kids making a mess but it stuck to their hands and got everywhere. The product states NON Toxic but also states not to get in eyes or mouths which is almost impossible for my kids.
Duh it messy its sand! Posted 26 December 2008 Thi is phenominal prduct for your children. It keeps them super busy and it is very creative. My daughter and her cousins would play with it forever. They love it! Yes, its messy but nothing as messy as beach sand. Put it on a coffee table under the pastic tube it comes with and sweep the area when they are done. Here is a tip: use sandwich bags for the leftover sand. It makes for less clean up and accidents.
Great imagination toy. I would rather clean up after an hour of play time then have them playing a video game or watching tv. Worth it! My kids are from 3 1/2 through 6 and do not throw it around. They help me clean up the mess because they enjoy playing with it enough and I wont let them play again if they dont help out.
Our answer to the mess Posted 17 December 2008 My granddaughter loves her moon sand and especially with the onset of cold days this is the first thing she reaches for. Our answer to the mess is an old sheet on the floor. She plays and spills and when she's done we gather the 4 corners and pour the sand back into the case and then hang the sheet outside for awhile. Then it's ready for the next time.
