Chunky puzzles dont fit Posted 01 October 2008 The case does not hold its own puzzles. I have the chunky puzzles by Melissa and Doug and they dont fit in the case. I had to return it because the wires racks are not wide enough. Its a sturdy case but not made for the chunky puzzles. I was disappointed.
puzzle box Posted 05 August 2008 we were very excited to find this storage case to help organize all of our puzzles. however we were disappointed to find that it didn't hold the "chunky" melissa and doug puzzles. i just assumed that since they made it, it would hold their own puzzles...
Durable and Handy Posted 06 February 2007 It ain't cheap in price, but it ain't cheaply made either. Will handle other similarly sized puzzles from other manufacturers but it WILL NOT handle the chunky puzzles (the one with the thick pieces), so keep that in mind. Overall, helps us to keep puzzle pieces in puzzles while in non use, and it helps to keep them organized and available for easy access.
great storage item Posted 15 January 2007 This storage case for wood puzzles is sturdy and bright. Of course my kids don't play with it, but I have loved seeing them play with our puzzles because they can see them instead of having them stacked in a drawer somewhere. Definately worth it!!!
M&D Chunky Piece Puzzles DO NOT fit Posted 05 December 2006 I really love the Melissa & Doug wood puzzles, and we own many, so I bought two of these boxes in order to store them better. I didn't realize until it arrived, that the M&D Chunky Piece Puzzles do not fit due to the puzzle pieces being too thick and sitting too close to the edges of the puzzle. Most of the puzzles we own are the chunky piece puzzles, so that was rather disappointing, but I am sure we will aquire many that will fit in the years to come. Now if M&D made sure that all of their chunky puzzle pieces sat an inch in from the border of the puzzle, then they would fit, but they are not designed that way currently - maybe in the future! Otherwise, a great storage solution!
