Customer Reviews
Fun to fly, for about 15 minutes... Posted 01 January 2008 The best thing I can say about this airplane is that the Megatech Customer Service is very helpful. The wing was sent to us with a huge crease that precluded its use (1st call to Customer Service - they sent me a new wing with no charge). The next problem was with the battery - it lasted for two flights (second call to Customor Service - made me pay for a new battery). It was probably because it was recharged while it was still warm from use (a no-no according to the directions), but I would say its a poor design if the battery can't be recharged immediately after use. Overall, for a remote control airplane this price is right, flying is easy, but the quality of the power system is poor.
Fun and easy Posted 01 January 2007 This is nice and not too much money. I have a great time flying this and it charges from the control so you dont have to run to the house every time. love it
Just so-so... Posted 14 February 2006 Well i got this toy for a christmas present and I loved it so much. I had been wanting a good rc plane for ever! I finally had one so I was really looking forward to flying it. I went outside with my uncle and we tryed to launch it from the ground. It would not go straight so me & my uncle were adjusting it so much. We got tired of ground launching so we hand launched it. I tried to hand launch it and it was horrible. I mean you really need to throw it with some force to get it to stay in the air. I really recommend that you throw hard with a very small upward slant or it will nosedive within 10-15 feet. The upward slant is because when you throw it straight with normal force it will fly some and in 30 feet its landing gear will tap the ground and then it will go back up.As i was saying we finally hand launched it and the first time it failed. Some time around the 4th or 5th time we broke a propeller. Then we got it real high and it hit the top of a pine-tree. Lucky for me it fell and everything was fine. then i noticed it had broke another propeller. I broke a total of 3 propellers and finally quit playing. as i walked inside i wasn't really paying attention and i snapped the left or right tailwing totally off the plane. I also snapped the tail rudder. That brought me to tears and i was so sad then. I was gonna get a refund or replacement for cruddy durability. We never got around to it so about a month or 2 later i decided to get it out again. My mom hot glued the tailwings and rudder back on and i snapped the new propeller back on and went flying. After i flew for a few minutes, always crashing it because it went to0 fast I crashed it. I then let my nehibor fly it and he is real good at this kind of stuff. He was used to flying an aeroace and he threw it and it barrel rolled so it was on its side like a banking airplane. The roll made it shoot torwards the ground at real fast speeds. When it hit it broke the other tailwing so i ran in and told mom that the tail broke again. But this time i didn't cry because me dog had just chewed my aeroace up and i was now used to stuff breaking. We hot glued it and then i decided to write this review. It really would be
3 1/2 stars. Here are a few notes for people who read this review.
1: even though this plane states to be easy to fly it isn't very good to be a beginner. I recommend being an intermediate-expert flyer.
2: really try to find a field to fly this in. the reasons are, it has a lot of room and on your street you will never be able to fly it. also it will be more fun because the box says it has a 500 ft. range and it will be more fun at good range.
3: always fly on a fully charged battery and with good light and winds no higher than 5 mph.
