Our Editorial Review
Product Description With LeapFrog's Word Whammer Fridge Phonics, you can create over 325 three-letter words with magnetic letters that sing and teach. These interactive, magnetic letters are based on the LeapFrog Talking Words Factory video. What's a Word Whammer' It's a machine that teaches kids letter names, letter sounds and how letter sounds blend together to make words. It features three modes of play. In Letter Hunt, children learn letter names and sounds through fun songs. With Word Builder, children explore letter combinations and create over 325 words. In Word Hunt, children can spell three-letter words, then replace letters to make rhyming words. Lights follow each letter during play to reinforce the learning. Includes letters A through Z, plus six additional letters (E, O, D, G, M and P), so kids can spell words like MOM and DAD. Letters and magnetic letter reader attach securely to the refrigerator. Volume control and 2 "AA" batteries (included).

LeapFrog Posted 27 August 2008 Nice Toy I really enjoy watching my grandson's standing at the frig. just playing away.
Educational. Posted 16 August 2008 The toy is educational, if the kids love to play the spelling words. I think it's one of the good toys.
Our Cat Loves It Posted 19 July 2008 This toy is great fun for the WHOLE family. Neville, our cat, always comes running when we start playing with it. He loves to push against it and make it play the sounds. My only complaint is that it makes the wrong sound for R. It says that R says /er/ but R actually makes the sound /r/. It's really difficult to say without a vowel, but you must or kids will it up pronouncing the word row, erow. That's just not right! Anyway, we love the Word Whammer and Fridge Phonics! If we need Neville to come and have his glucose level checked, we just start pushing letters and he comes rushing into the kitchen.
LeapFrog Word Whammer Posted 14 July 2008 My grandchild is learning how to spell small words on the refrigerator while his Mom is cooking.
Good toy Posted 01 July 2008 The day after I put this on our fridge, my pre-schooler could spell 3 words from memory, knowing what they were, and recognizing them if I spelled them. I am very impressed at how this toy does teach.
