this product was purchased for a special needs Sunday School member that has cataracts. The light and magnifier helps her read the lesson.

The product is not the highest quality construction, but it has been a tremendous help to my mother who has lost her reading ability to macular degeneration. The light combined with magnifier has made it possible for her to read mail and small print again. Well worth the purchase!

If one understands the purpose of this product and Fresnel optics, he will be very satisfied. Build quality of the frame is appropriate for the use and price - better than expected. Fresnel lens itself is surprisingly good vs. the competition (Physics dictates that the distortion free area is 6-7" circle in the center and that the image will be somewhat muddy. This lens minimizes these problems as far as possible in a single layer design). To get better results expect to spend order(s) of magnitude more money.
So, know what to expect ...
