They still make 'em like that anymore Posted 12 May 2007 I bought these for my granddaughter but have found that the whole family enjoys sitting down to build things with Legos. Sometimes it's cooperative play and sometimes it's an individual challenge ... but in any case, the set has provided something for everyone. And besides using the blocks to realize a vision that comes from imagination, the set has also provided an opportunity for everyone to reminisce about their own favorite Lego creations and experiences from days gone by. Let's hope my granddaughter one day carries her Lego experience along when she purchases the first set for her own kids and grandkids.
Buckets of creativity... Posted 01 April 2007 This lego product provides hours of creativity and appeals to both boys and girls alike. It is nice to have a lego set girls can enjoy as it seems most sets are geared toward the interests of boys. I never cease to be amazed by the things young minds can create with a good supply of lego bricks.
What's not to love about Legos? Posted 17 March 2007 I bought these for my son's 7th birthday, having forgotten how much fun I had playing with Legos when I was a kid. Within moments of opening this set, he'd all but forgotten the toys that do not require as much imaginative play.
Since then, we've had fun making the buildings pictured on the box and in the accompanying pamphlet, as well as making our own creations. For instance, I'm writing this the day before St. Patrick's day... and in honor of that day we've created an "Irish village" on our dining table. I have a feeling we'll be doing something similar for every holiday this year... and I almost can't wait until Christmas!
I do wish, however, that Lego would start building boxes that help kids keep their blocks a bit more organized. It's rather frustrating for younger ones to fish around in a big tub looking for a tiny little piece... and frustrating for Mom when they dump the whole tub out to find just that one!
Excellence delivered quickly Posted 12 March 2007 Even though my House Building Set came in a plain brown box, I was very satisfied with the product. I found all the pieces to be there, and it was actually easier to wrap as a gift for my granddaughter's birthday.
Great all around toy Posted 10 January 2007 This toy came in super shape and has been a favorite of my son's. He doesn't follow the book that came with it but comes up with his own creations. This set makes it possible to make many different things. I especially like the heavy duty box for storing everything especially since I have a two year old who puts everything in her mouth. Great toy for the price.
