Product Description The sleek V-wing fighter can adapt to any situation!Position the wings and flaps in attack mode to protect Palpatine's shuttle from enemies. Or position the wings in flight mode to survey the area for intruders! Either way, the V-wing is ready to strike .
Amazon.com Both original Star Wars fans and those just getting acquainted with the saga will enjoy putting together this replica of a V-Wing fighter from Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. This small model is only 8-1/2 inches long and, with 118 pieces, takes just 15 to 30 minutes to construct. It is a good beginner building set for younger kids and also suitable for collectors who aren't looking for a huge building challenge. The ship features wings that fold in and out and a detachable canopy (although a hinged canopy would be preferable). One Clone V-Wing Pilot minifig comes with the set and fits within the fighter's cockpit. The manual contains easy-to-follow illustrated instructions and includes a full inventory of all pieces with part numbers in case builders need to order a replacement. --Cristina Vaamonde

Lego Star Wars V-Wing Fighter Posted 12 January 2008 My 11 yr. old son loves Lego's in general. I brought him a few of the Star Wars Legos for Christmas and he put them together rather quickly and has been enjoying them ever since.
He claims he wants to be an Architect so maybe Legos do have an educational value as well.
Lego Star wars V-Wing fighter Posted 27 June 2007 I ordered this for my 9 year old son. He and I assembled this together as this was his 1st Lego set. He felt a sense of accomplishment upon completing it. He likes it and plays with it. It has moveable parts. He is now interested in doing more Legos sets. Is a good toy that encourages using the mind and imagination. Was a good purchase!!
Star Wars Legos rule! Posted 11 January 2007 My boys, ages 6 and 8 love all the star war legos. This one is one of the smaller ones and very easy to put together. It's not one of their favorites but it still gets played with.
Small, but nice Posted 10 January 2007 If you are a star wars fan, then get it, because it is a nice addition to the collection that you already have. It is small but so is the price. I liked it, and my 7 year old did too. We had fun building it together. He was have some dificulties with some of the parts. But when he finished he was truely proud of wha he built. Now off he goes to fight with his brother ( He has Lego Star wars toys too). I wonder which one of them is going to the DARK SIDE........ :)
Not so accurate, but fun Posted 07 January 2007 I'm really on the fence about this model. There are a lot of things wrong with it, and a lot of cool things about it.
I'll start with the positives. It's just a cool looking little ship. Although it's only seen onscreen for a few seconds in "Episode III", it's memorable because of its obvious evolutionary link to the later TIE Fighters.
It's a fun build, a quick build, and has some rarer parts that were new at the time. For the price, this is a cool model. The guns look really awesome. I like the engines, the wings, and the little red astro-droid. I don't think you can get a red astro-droid head anywhere else except this set!
So what didn't I like? Well, to save money, Lego didn't do a new mould for the pilot's helmet which looks nothing like the Republic pilots in the movie. Also, due to the piece count and price point, the model itself isn't all that movie accurate. In the film, the wings rotate for landing, which was a really cool and striking feature. On this model, the wings simply fold down. Very dissapointing. However, speaking as a Lego modder, I've found that there would have been no practical way for Lego to make movie-accurate rotating wings on this model without upping the size of it, the piece count, and therefore the price. So it's a catch 22 situation.
One thing they could have fixed with only a couple extra pieces if making the cockpit airtight! It gapes open at the bottom edge. Not to mention there's no hinges or any other way to get the pilot out without removing the whole piece altogether.
Anyway, my advice would be to buy two of these little guys. That way you can use the extra pieces to make it a tad bigger and badder. Or combine it with pieces from the A-wing set to make it an ultra-cool V-wing. That's the neat thing about Lego. All you need is some extra pieces and a little bit of imagination and you can do anything.
