Amazon.com Product Description Designed to strike awe and terror into Rebels hearts, the Imperial Star Destroyer and the rest of the Empires fleet of space vessels maintain order in the galaxy through shows of power and ruthless fighting tactics. This massive (23-inches when assembled) Lego space ship, based on the Star Wars craft, will be a feather in the cap of any self-respecting Lego buff. With 1,366 pieces and a top and sides that swing open to reveal the inner workings, construction of the kit will be an adventure in itself. Once built, the Imperial Star Destroyer will provide hours more of play, as fans re-enact scenes from the millennia of fictional Star Wars history, or even create new battles and alliances in conjunction with other Lego Star Wars kits (Jabbas Sail Barge, the B-Wing Fighter, etc.). Kids (and adults) will love discovering the multiple gadgets within: a platform for Darth Vader to talk to a hologram of the Emperor, a meditation chamber for Darth Vader with a crane to remove his helmet, turbo laser cannons on the bridge that really discharge, an escape shuttle releases in case of emergency, a storage closet for Stormtrooper rifles, and a bridge that slides open. Nine mini-figures are included (Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, two Stormtroopers, two Emperors Royal Guard, Imperial Officer, R2-D5, and Mouse Droid). --Emilie Coulter

ha ha ha ha ha ha HA! Posted 12 April 2007 I am 10 years old and I played with legos ever since I was 4. but this is my favorite set. I loooooooooooove it! it's nice and sturdy. and has lots of detail. A MUST BUY FOR kids 9-14!
A great toy. Posted 05 March 2007 Like all Legos products- top quality, perfect fit of all parts, easy to follow directions and a feeling of satisfaction seeing and holding the finished product.
We bought this for our 12 year old son. It is a relatively large project and the whole family was involved in the assembly process.
Great but suceptible to frequent damage Posted 19 February 2007 This was a great Lego set. My 6 year old earned it as a reading award in our family. He built it with the help of his dad. He's an expert Lego builder, but this one took a lot of time and seemed more difficult than most b/c it is fragile. The main objection I have with it still is that he cannot really play with it as he does his other Lego sets, even comparably sized sets with a similar number of pieces, b/c it constantly is falling apart. Pieces are always breaking off, and the entire thing frequently just collapses. This makes it not fun, and he rarely plays with it, but it is still in a plastic bin we have for every Lego set, and he is proud to have it and to have built it.
Fantastic fun and detail Posted 08 February 2007 Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 13 year old daughter, who loves model and lego contruction. This set was perfect in challenging her, yet not so difficult that she needed any parental assistance. She completed the set in one fun-filled day. A real hit for the older child that loves a challenging Lego set!
excellent entertainment for my son, who learns with it Posted 13 January 2007 While you might think this is excessively expensive, when you factor in design and the task of doing it, I think this is a great deal. My son, who is 7, got this for christmas and sat down and worked out almost the whole thing in 6 hours of intense concentration. Beyond the discipline and his pride in the result, the process trains his eye for observation and his hands for precision. For whatever reason, this kind of building has become something of an obsession in him that we want to feed and we hope to build on with tougher projects in the future. Ok, this is a bit canned and you have to follow the steps very carefully, but it is a big step. A year ago, he started on ships with 40 pieces, so this is a progression to 1366!
I think the one drawback is that these are quite fragile, so you can't play with them in a rough way. Thus, they are like models, though he and his sister will takes pieces and characters out of it for their games.
Warmly recommended.
