Product Description Powerful fighter of the Rebel fleet! Build the Rebellion's heavy strike ship with this exciting set! Just like the classic Star Wars vessel, its wings can fold for flight or vertical landing. Challenge the forces of the Empire and use your launchers to save the day! Service tower doubles as a display stand for the fighter and can fold down for easy storage. Cockpit opens so you can put the B-wing pilot at the controls. This set includes a Rebel pilot and features wings that fold for landing or flight, missiles that really launch, and a service tower that doubles as a display stand!
Amazon.com Long-awaited by fans and collectors, this B-Wing fighter model is an excellent replica of the spaceship rebel forces used in Return of the Jedi's Battle of Endor during the final defeat of the Death Star II and the Empire. A reissue of a formerly released B-Wing fighter set (7180), this ship is bigger than the originalstanding 15 inches tall on the display stand--and has almost 100 more pieces (435 versus 338). Like the vessel in the movie, the fighter has wings that manually open from parallel to perpendicular and a rotating and self-leveling cockpit. Other features of the B-Wing include a hinged canopy on the cockpit and a missile launcher that shoots two missiles. A docking bay, which doubles as a display stand, holds the missiles and a selection of six tools. The set comes with two B-Wing pilot minifigs (Ten Numb and one unnamed pilot). These minifigs have flesh-toned skin instead of the more collectible yellow skin on the earlier Star Wars figures. Purists may also be disappointed that Lego includes decals to adhere to pieces in this set rather than going to the expense of painting designs directly on the bricks. The B-Wing fighter takes anywhere from two to four hours to build with some help from the illustrated instructions. The manual also contains a full inventory of all pieces with part numbers in case a piece is lost and builders need to order a replacement. --Cristina Vaamonde

Legos are great! Star Wars is great! Posted 27 May 2007 What can I say about this? Legos have been around since I was a kid. They are still going strong. I grew up with Star Wars. I don't recall this particular ship in action, but my kids love it. I was missing one small piece, but nothing worth going after. The thought process in creating this toy (or any Lego) is amazing. I guess the only educational value for a child is to see how the mechanical parts work. The ship tends to losen up after play, but don't they all? Legos are top quality.
Nice lego toy Posted 24 January 2007 This is a pretty good Lego toy. It was fairly tedious to put together - especially since there was one step skipped in the directions. After much confusion and more examination we finally figured out what was missing but it was a little annoying and took some time. My 4 yr old son loves it so far, except that the launch pad comes apart easily. It is pretty cool - Legos have come a long way.
Nice product Posted 14 January 2007 I bought this for my seven year old grandson for his birthday. He liked it a lot as he is detail minded and likes to put things together. Toy is fairly hard to put together. I would buy it again.
Star Wars Lego's Posted 10 January 2007 This was one of three sets I bought my son. Who knew they make so may different Star Wars Lego's sets. Hopefully I got the right ones. LOL
Very nice. Posted 31 July 2006 Okay, the original B-Wing was a little under-scaled and wasn't very accurate to the movie. Lego has gained alot of popularity over the years, alot more than before. Alot of people were asking for a new B-Wing because: 1.They weren't fans at that time to get it. 2.The B-Wing is just so cool. Here's my review:
The B-Wing, well, just looks so NICE! I don't know why it is called a B-Wing, since it resembles a T more than anything else. Oh well, still a cool ship. You get two minifigures, a B-Wing pilot dressed in a nice looking red. And you get a Sullustan pilot named Ten Numb.(Yes Ten Numb is a real Star Wars character, he was dressed red in Return of the Jedi.) I think Ten Numb looks great. If you see his actual picture, I think you would agree. The B-Wing pilot has a classic smily face and what looks to be a racing helmet. Shweet! Two pilots and you only need one.
The B-Wing is a masterpiece. Not only does it look more accurate than it's previous self, it is more accurate. The B-Wing itself is very sturdy. Two cons come with the B-Wing though. One of them is that the missiles shown do not fire properly. You must tilt the B-Wing to do so, which is very annoying. Another is those dreaded stickers. You never really can get them on right. Oh well, I don't even put the stickers on anyway. The B-Wing comes with a nice yellow and black service station with tools so you can display the B-Wing. I don't use it because in reality, the B-Wing lands horizontally. But it is still nice to have and can be used with other sets if you like.
All in all, this B-Wing literally destroys the old. You get two pilots when you only need one. The price isn't that bad considering the pieces. I think that every fan should own at least one of these. I'm still trying to figure out the B shape though...
