Beautiful, sturdy, and fit for fun loving kids and discerning parents Posted 03 September 2008 Kettler Trimmstation Swing Set
The key to building this set is simply to get organized- the instructions are all pictorial- so if you haven't done your preliminary work, it's hard to back track and get back on track. The hardware and the set are so streamlined, all the tools provided too- that except for digging holes, and laying cement, you have a pretty simple, (though a tiny bit time consuming), task at hand. The measurements are straightforward and the assembly order is logical. Plan on having two people for some aspects of this!
The kids love this set- unlike so many others it fosters climbing and swinging and sliding- has a wonderful monky bar set and an optional slide, which we purchased too-
We watched for price reductions and were able to find prices slashed around $200 off both slide and set, which we beleive is fair for the quality of the set. It is so much nicer than any set I have seen for kids.
My daughter would tell you in a minute that your kids, if they like to hang upside down, climb on monkey bars, slide, rope climb, and swing, they will be happy with this.
Leave it to the Germans to make a BMW of swing sets!
Excellent swing set/monkey bars Posted 24 August 2008 I was looking for a fairly compact play structure that would be fun for my 6 year old and something my 2 year old could grow into. This set is perfect. It took about 1/2 hour to organize and label all the parts and 2 more hours to assemble it. The instructions were very easy to follow. We also dug about 12-15 inches into the ground and cemented with four 50lb bags of post cement. We placed the structure on grass and there is no way it would have been stable without cementing each of the six posts. The package arrived partially opened and that may have contributed to a few scratches but otherwise, the set looks great. It looks nothing like a typical metal swingset. The bars are thicker and much more durable. My six year old loves that the monkey bars have a ladder on one side and two poles to slide down on the other. Overall, we are thrilled with this playset.
"jungle gym" Posted 28 July 2008 Fairly easy to put together. Our 7 year old has not been off of it since assembly! We were looking for something a little more challenging and fun than a typical wood swing set (because of her age). So far so good.
Great set Posted 07 June 2008 Set looks as advertised: very nice colors, flawless parts (no dents, scratches.) Instructions are very good, proper diagrams to show where exactly everything goes.
Be prepared to dig deep holes to anchor this thing with cement, I dug 15 inches into the ground and needed 10 40-lb bags of cement. Leveling this is a little bit of a hassle, use rocks to push up individual posts a little to even things before you pour cement.
Still though, a very nice product, very well made.
Happy Mom Posted 13 April 2008 I am alreay thrilled with this set! I was easy to put together. I was nearly able to do it all alone (as a woman, that's not bad!!). The pieces are very sturdy and my kids are thrilled! The perfect set for kids age 4+.
