Good introduction to basic United States map skills Posted 18 January 2008 I bought this for my 3 year old and she likes it. It's simple and introduces basic awareness of states, what they are known for, where they are. Also practices shape, color, letter recognition.
great for my 4.5 year old Posted 12 January 2008 This was a Christmas gift and my 4.5 year old daughter loves it! Helps a lot with reading and geography (obviously). Also great for talking about places we have been and places where family lives. I would highly recommend it - she asks to play it almost every day since Christmas. Her big cousins loved playing it with her too.
Good way to learn the states Posted 24 November 2007 This game is a nice alternative to the usual Candyland type games. My daughter, who is 5, has learned a lot of the state names from this game. Children do not have to be able to read to play, which is good for younger children.
Educational board game Posted 17 November 2007 This is a great board game. It teaches the states' names, shapes and a fun fact about each state. The players, depending on what card they pick, have to find a state that starts with a certain letter, find the state that matches the shape, or find a picture of something on a state. My 5 and 3 year old girls love it. They ask to play it all the time. The only negative thing is that since they cannot read well yet, I have to be present while they play. I guess that is not totally a bad thing since I probably need a geography lesson myself!! This is very educational and will definitely help my kids get a head start in geography. (Also, the state capitals are written on each state.)
Great FAST game Posted 10 July 2007 My 5 year old daughter loves to play board games, but I find that most of them take a long time to play. This game is fun for mom, dad and child and it only takes a maximum of about 20 minutes to play the whole game! We have played the game at least 10 times now and it does not seem repetetive, we keep picking new cards. I think this game will be on our top pick list for years to come!
