Our Editorial Review
Product Description The Star Station lets kids turn any television into an instant hit show by putting the power of performance right into their hands. Using Plug 'N Play technology, this hardware unit plugs right into the TV. Kids can access the music library to choose from over 75 Kidz Bop songs -- songs sung by kids, for kids. (Kidz Bop is the most popular and recognized music product in the US for kids aged 4-11.) There are four songs built into the hardware unit and there is a library of nine additional ROM packs, each containing eight songs. The Additional ROMs make it easy for kids to quickly and easily change the music and the theme of their show.A wireless microphone puts no limits on the action and lets kids choose from and control five different camera lenses: Regular, Waves, Kaleidoscope, Red Kaleidoscope and Triple Vision. And from a button on the mic, little performers can change and rotate the lenses for amazing on-screen effects. Requires three "AAA" and six "C" batteries (not included).

Fisher Price Star Station Entertainment System Posted 11 November 2008 This is a fun system. Your kids will be dancing and singing all day long. Highly recommended.
I am satisfied with this gift but probably wouldn't buy it myself Posted 21 January 2008 My 17 month old and four year old received this for Christmas. My 17 month old loves it. She loves to dance and always wants to play with it. It is worth having just to see her play with it. My son isn't as interested and it doesn't hold his attention for long. The picture quality is fine. I don't expect movie quality in a kids toy. There are two big negatives to this toy though:
One it doesn't come with a power cord. I spent a long time looking for the cord thinking I must have misplaced it. I am surprised that Fisher-Price did not include a cord especially at this price point. I solved the problem by using rechargeable batteries.
Two the cartridge that comes with it is pretty bad. They have included pop mixes of regular kids songs. The kids don't recognize them and that doesn't help keep their attention. We get around this by using another source for music.
In summary I love it for my 17 month old daughter but she is way outside the age range. Video and audio quality are fine. The cartridge is disappointing and battery only operation is annoying. Someone in another review suggested using a video camera hooked to a TV to achieve the same result. I guess with all of the work a-rounds that would be just as good of an option.
Great fun for the whole family Posted 21 January 2008 This toy has been a big hit with our whole family. We have a lot of fun passing the mike around making each other laugh. We do our best lounge singer impersonations and the kids don't laugh at all. That makes it even more hilarious for the adults. All in all, money well spent...
Poor Sound Quality Posted 04 January 2008 The Star Station is a fun concept and my daughter and three year old friends love to see themelves on TV but the audio is poor and images are distorted. I advise you to wait to buy this one until the glitches are worked out.
