Our Editorial Review
Product Description The Fisher-Price Light Sketcher lets children express themselves with the magic of light. Light from the child-safe pen reacts with special ink on the drawing surface, allowing young artists to draw with light. Drawing fades after about 40 seconds and surface is ready for the next creation. Easy for children to operate. Requires four "AA" batteries, not included. Measures 20"W x 11.5"H.

Doodle Pro is better Posted 22 September 2008 Durable, but lights are very distracting & bright. My 5 year old son enjoys it, but gets frustrated because it is sometimes difficult to write on. I think the Doodle Pro is better.
Great toy! Posted 11 August 2008 My daughter received this as a gift last Christmas, just 2 months before she turned 3. I didn't realize before she opened it that you had to hold down a button on the pen in order for it to work. That had me a bit worried, but she was able to do it right away. We also have a Doodle Pro, and both of them get used often at our house. Right now, we're working on writing letters so I love to use the dashed line to make each letter for her, and then she traces over it with the solid line. It's a great toy, and we'd buy it again.
My son broke it on day three! Posted 28 May 2008 My son received this as a 5th birthday present on Saturday. It's now Tuesday, and he brought his new favorite toy to daycare with him today. He started dragging it around by the pen and the toy was taken and put away where it couldn't be broken. I picked him up and the pen no longer lights up, even though the wires are still connected and whatnot. The main pad lights up, just not the light.
Bottom line: it's a piece of junk. Save your $25 and get a Magna Doodle.
