Our Editorial Review
Product Description Fascinations Antworks is the first and only ant habitat to be tested in zero gravity. It provides a total ecosystem for ants and uses a non-toxic blue gel which makes it easy to watch the ants digging their network of tunnels. It includes container, ant catcher, magnifier and activity guide.

Ants wouldn't take... Posted 25 July 2008 I got the ants from the company- they all showed up alive, but didn't do anything in the gel but die in a few weeks. Cool idea, but didn't work for me.
Interesting and educational Posted 18 July 2008 We bought this for our son and he loves it. It shows the daily goings on in an ants life. This is a very rugged built product as well. Very educational and entertaining. I would highly recommend it.
Fascinating Fun For All Ages Posted 15 July 2008 Our library system in Utah ordered one ant farm for each library. Ants arrived in June. Some say they already have dead ants, but ours are still alive. A couple of times we've had to turn the ant farm upside down to make the ants become more active, but they are still tunneling away for the most part. The kit said it would take 24-48 hours for the ants to start tunneling, ours started within two hours. The kids love the ants, especially when they find out that the lid is on secure (they're fire ants). We also put up a picture by the ants that shows what the ant hills look like in the wild along with some facts about ants. The kids love to come in and see how the ants are doing. This is a great, low maintenance ant farm that is perfect for anyone who doesn't want to deal with the hassle of feeding the ants and keeping the sand damp for traditional ant farms. The food in already a part of the gel and the ants last 1 to 4 month according to the instructions. Since there are now replacement gel kits you can buy for this, I can't wait to order these again for the kids.
Classroom Ant Farm Posted 28 June 2008 I've used the Antworks ant home in previous years for my classroom. The students love watching the ants tunnel! This ant home is nice for teachers because you do not have to feed and water the ants as in other farms. You will need to take out the ants as they die. Unfortunetely, unless you get a queen ant, the colony will only live for a month or two.
I was disappointed this Antworks home did not come with a coupon for the ants. This will need to be purchased separetely or if you are adventurous, collect ants on your own!
A great new twist to a kid's classic project Posted 18 February 2008 I ordered this for my son. We recieved the kit farly quickly and the ants were easy to order. Only one ant was dead out of like 20 some so that was good. The blue gel is great to watch because you can see everything and allows kids to see and touch and even drop it sometimes without messing up there tunnels. Also the ants feed of the gel so that saves from the hassle of feeding them. Great product would recommend for anyone looking for a great and interactive ant farm for young ones.
