Try to pack the trunk with as many fun and wacky items as possible. View larger. | Unlike many games that aim at specific skill sets, this Cranium game creates positive excitement for all kids. The object of the game is simple -- to fit as many fun items as possible, of all shapes and sizes, into the trunk before time runs out. On each turn, players say the number of objects they think they can precariously pack. When time's up, the trunk shoots everything out the doors -- filling the room with laughter. Everything -- Even the Kitchen Sink With 14 hilarious objects you'd find in a cartoon, Jam Pack Jam includes a birthday cake, a cactus, a skateboard, even a kitchen sink. Made with durable plastic, the car and the trunk items are child-safe and can stand up to long hours of play -- and all the explosions! The game also comes with 35 cards and a score pad. A fun, quick game Posted 08 January 2008 I am a mom of two and have a daycare too. This game was an immediate hit with all age groups! The only downside is the storage problem(it only includes a small ziploc).Once you run through the rules with the kids they can play this game independently. Since the SUV is the 'judge', kids don't need a hovering referee! This is a great game for rainy days and times when kids get a little cranky and need a little extra reason to relax and laugh!
Too pricey Posted 04 January 2008 I have mixed reviews on this Cranium product. Purchased after reading it was a "hot toy" for this season but found I'm rather luke-warm on it. First off, there is NO box to store this in! And the zip lock bag it comes in is a joke so be prepared to find something else to put all the parts and the SUV in. Secondly, ours doesn't always work properly. The trunk doesn't always register (even if you only put one item in and close it) and therefore says you have to try again. Thirdly, after a few rounds it becomes rather boring b/c you can quickly find out how to pack the items each time. Lastly, the price for this is way too high!
I'm hoping the folks at Cranium get back on track. I bought the Sounds of Seashore Game before this one and it also is a big DUD. Don't buy that one!
Good idea but Cranium could have done better Posted 31 December 2007 Got this game for the family for christmas. The idea is a good one but I think the makers fell short of "completing" the game which could have been alot better. After one game we found out that it would be more fun if we added to the game. We gave different point values (1, 2, and 3) to each piece and gave a bonus if you were able to use all of your cards. This made the game more competitive and fun for everyone. in our first game you would see us shying away from the bg yellow chair and in the second game when it was worth 3 points and a possible bonus we got creative on how to use it.
I think the inventors dropped the ball on what a really good game this could have been. Once we altered it, it was alot of fun!
An updated version of "Perfection" Posted 28 December 2007 I bought this game because it reminded me of the old game Perfection. Indeed, my four year old likes racing against the clock to fit the different items in the trunk of the SUV. I just wish more items could actually fit. It is fun, but the variations of the game are limited by the amount of space in the trunk (so only so much will ever fit). My son has adapted the game by trying to fill the trunk, then place as much as he can on the roof. It keeps him occupied and happy, so no problem there! I do think the educational value of the toy (spatial relations, etc.) is less than the toy manufacturer would want you to think, but it wasn't the main reason I bought it so that fact doesn't personally bother me.
fun for everyone Posted 28 December 2007 I bought this for my 7 year old for Christmas. She wasn't that excited about it just seeing it in the box, but once I got her to play she hasn't wanted to stop! We have played it several times a day for the past 3 days and she doesn't seem to get bored with it. It is one that I don't mind playing over and over again with her, and it doesn't take long to play. It is alot of fun for the whole family.
