Good points and bad points. Posted 28 December 2007
The good points: it's a fun machine for your kids to sing along with pre-recorded tapes. The microphone is professional-looking and sturdy. It can be used as a tape recorder. It's nice to be able to adjust the volume, echo, etc. The reviews from Simon, et al, are cute.
The bad points: there's no on-off button, just a reset button on back that's hard to see. Pressing, or even lightly brushing, a button can trigger a reset and the thing turns back on. The batteries that were included were dead (probably because one of the buttons on the machine was pressed in transit, triggering the reset). It's hard for my 8 year old to figure out how to tape herself along with a song. The pre-recorded songs are chosen from much older idol seasons, and she is not familiar with most of them.
All in all, not a bad deal for the price I paid, but I would have been upset had I paid full price for it.
