Product Description First determine which kind of extra-terrestrial you are dealing with. If you have life forms from the planet Zound at your front door then it is safe to let them in. (You will recognise Zound aliens by their red heads and small feet). To communicate with them, you will need a Zoundz. The Zoundz is a futuristic music-making machine that is light years ahead of its time. It is made up of a base unit and seven individual musical 'pawns' - each of which is a different shape and colour. Place a 'pawn' onto various spots on the base unit and it will light up and play a different riff or beat. Move the 'pawns' around the unit and the sound will change depending on where they are placed - so you can create your own music. Please note: Zound aliens are partial to unique compositions and may smile - you can tell that they are smiling by looking at their ears, which flip upside down when they are happy.

FABULOUS FUTURISTIC EXECUTIVE TOY! Posted 10 April 2008
This is the most fascinating 'executive toy' you will probably find anywhere, but it's much more than this.
It's also a Clock and Alarm Clock! With a mixture of space music and futuristic 'zoundz', one is able to create numerous pieces of music combined with fabulous accompanying light shows! This can also be used to send you to sleep with a combination of soothing 'zoundz' and light shows of your own creation - or to wake you up! This can be a source of endless and creative fun and enjoyment!
This Item is also equipped with a recording facility in the form of a clear cube sculpture that can record your own input which may be added and 'worked in' with the built in 'zoundz'. 'Zoundz' are created and activated by placing one or several of any of the seven futuristic sculptures that are included upon the special 'Hot Spots' that are featured upon the platform. All the audible sounds - whether they be the speaking clock, voice mode, 'zoundz', alarm functions , are all extremely clear and of excellent quality.
This machine, apart from looking like something really cool that you'd probably find on the Star Ship Enterprise, is built of exceptionally high quality materials, and now on offer at this crazily reduced price, only a fool would miss out!
This is one of those rare Items that once obsolete, will be much sought after and go on eBay for a fortune!

I stumbled upon this by pure accident, and I'm glad I did! Absolutely otherworldly is the best way to describe this (to call it a toy would do it a disservice) device.
So simple to use, that in seconds you can be conjuring up cosmic arrangements that wouldn't be a miss on some electronica albums! The 6 objects (plus one to record) all have 3 preordained sounds that emerge depending upon which hotspot you place the piece on, the hotspots are sensitive enough to react instantly, so you can be as creative as your hand speed can manage, you can slow down the tempo, add reverb and echo and use the transparent cube to record external sounds using the inbuilt mic (voice, etc.. or thru the jack socket using an external device such as ipod) There's a nice build quality to the zoundz, it's organic design is solid, the speaker is decent, there's even an inbuilt alarm clock which will use your fav piece to wake you up in the morning! how good is that?
My only gripe is that it would have been good to include a headphone socket so that you could record from the zoundz ( maybe the next version will have more features)
It may look and sound like an prop from a Space 1999 episode, but believe me, once you get your hands on this you'll not put it down! very addictive, great fun, very easy to use.
For (big) kids of all ages!

Amazing. I bought this for my 6 year old daughter as a birthday present after seeing reviews on various websites & in the Telegraph newspaper. We weren't disappointed. Everyone who sees it can't stop playing with it. You just place one of the unusual pieces on one of the 3 hot spots on the Zounds base & sounds flow from the built in speaker. Each piece plays a different rhythm depending where its placed. The pieces all have different styles ranging from keyboards, percussion, cosmic etc so you can create hundreds of different tunes. The cube can also be programmed with up to 5 seconds of custom recording. You can also plug it into an MP3 or Ipod to give you speakers & light show or even use it as an alarm clock which wakes you with you best composed tunes.
Buy it, you will be amazed.

I bought this item as a gift for my 40+ year old sister - she loved it. The whole family has played with it over christmas from my three year old upwards and it is still working and even the fluffy piece hasn't fallen apart. You can create your own tunes and record your own sound bites, speed them up and slow them down. Even if you don't manage to create some thing tunefull, the noises zounds make are mellow enough for any one to be able to put up with. It's not bad as an mp3 speaker probably the sound quality is a bit better than our I toys.
