Very Popular and durable toy! Posted 24 November 2008 My son was given this for his first birthday. He is now getting on for 5 and this toy is still in pretty much as new condition. It has been thrown about and dropped from the top of the stairs and taken everything my kids can throw at it (or throw it at). It's still used every time he is pretending to go anywhere, "buckle your seat belt mummy, we're off to the seaside!" and is popular with most visiting kids. You have to turn the ignition key to start it up, very easy to turn even for my 2yr old. The toy then sparks into life with a voice saying things like "Are we ready? then off we go!" There is a button with e a petrol pump on "I'm out of petrol, fill her up" a radio button that plays a couple of upbeat tunes and a police siren button. The button in the middle of the wheel makes a beep beep noise and shouts "out of the way" and the gear sticks makes realistic car speeding up and screeching to a halt noises. When you turn the wheel the shapes at the top go round and shout vaguely educational things, but my kids find these very easy to ignore. It has a low and high volume setting and can be switched off completely underneath too. It can get very annoying but it no worse and a lot better than some. I would recommend this toy.
Hee hee Posted 08 August 2008 Having suffered at the hands of my childless brother buying unsuitable (in my eyes altho my kids loved them) presents for years. I am now wreaking my revenge - my nephew loves this and it flashes and plays really loud music and it's really hard to turn off! YAY!
