Our Editorial Review
Amazon.co.uk Review Find the shortest route through the Amazing Labyrinth and you'll be the victor. This game is designed for 1-4 players aged eight years and above and the aim is to reach all your allocated treasures and targets using the shortest possible route through the Labyrinth and to be the first back to the start point. But there's a twist; the structure of the Labyrinth can change at any time as players manipulate the course to either make a path easier for themselves, or block that of an opponent. The board appears partly complete with fixed pieces of the Labyrinth. Before the game commences the labyrinth is filled in with all but one of the maze cards supplied. This creates a random pattern of pathways and treasures across the board. The Treasure cards are dealt face down equally to all players. At their turn the player picks up the top card to reveal their assigned treasure. (This is their first goal and they must not look at the rest of the cards until this goal has been achieved.) They then find a pathway to the treasure and travel as far as they are able to along that route. This can be made easier by pushing the "spare" maze card into the board at any one of the marked points. By doing this the maze cards are shifted, thereby creating a new path. A spare card will be pushed from the opposite end of the row; this is the spare card then used by the next player. Once a player has reached their assigned treasure, their goal is achieved; the treasure card is placed face up and the next card taken to indicate the next treasure to aim for on their subsequent turn. The game continues in this way until one player has found all their treasures and returned home. This enchanting game is attractively designed with cartoon-type characters on both the board and treasure cards. Adults and kids will enjoy the prospect of being able to manipulate the game and knocking their opponents off the board. --Ben King

Great Game Posted 04 April 2008 I bought this game for my 10 year old, chess mad son after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed, we have played it loads of times, with various age children and everyone has enjoyed playing, including the grown ups. It is a very simple concept, go around the board and collect the treasure shown on your cards, except that the labyrinth keeps moving! Just when you have lined up a pathway, someone else moves it - aghh, the frustration! But also makes you think two or three moves ahead. A great game, well worth the investment.
Complex but simple Posted 27 December 2007 Great fun. A relief from other excellent but rather literate games. this rewards forward planning , strategy and the ability to visualise what is happening for you and your opponents. We played this for the first time and found we were all understanding the process within 10min or so. The rules are as described above. The fun is that it is great certainly in our case for players from 9-86 .... it also lasts about 45minutes or so .. so not too long although if we hadn't been exhausted we would have had another round!!! Well recommended. I should say that the game is simple in some ways but is commendably complex once you get going. Well worth the dosh!!
great memorys Posted 06 December 2007 cant belive i have stumbled through amazon 2 find the best game ever ,played it in germany over 15 years ago bought back my own and lost ,neglected and now wondering what my son wants 4 xmas have found this marvel again. p.s alot cheaper and loads more fun than a computer game
Excellent game Posted 01 October 2007 I was looking for a game to distract x2 11 year old computer / video game enthusiasts. I was persuaded by the reviews posted here & have not been disappointed. The boys have really enjoyed it - it was even a priority to demonstrate to friends ahead of the much requested new computer game. A big hit. Thanks.
Amazeing, addictive, a great game Posted 04 April 2007 I must admit the game turned wasn't what I expected from reading the description and the previous reviews, and when I had to push the maze pieces out of a single sheet I was less than impressed. All this was soon forgotten once gameplay commenced.
The game is truly addictive and utterly fiendish. Just when you think you've got your route to the next point planned your opponents make the one move that completely destroys your route, forcing you to rethink your entire plan (it's particularly frustrating when the treasure you were chasing is pushed off the board only to reappear somewhere completely different).
Once you've got all your treasures you need to get home, and of course once your opponents can see you're down to getting back to your base they aren't going to make it easy. Once again you think you're getting somewhere and then someone goes and lays all your scheming to waste.
A truly great game, very simple, very easy to understand but so so playable. My wife and I were hooked from the start.
