I bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. The process of hatching and feeding it was an experience in itself, but seeing it grow and monitoring it's heartbeat made it so much fun, you can check its health on the toy's website too. Now I have to get another one as "it's lonely, daddy!" Would definitely recommend for all kids.
