Brilliant Posted 23 February 2009 A brilliant game. Better than Scrabble as everyone plays at the same time,so no lenghty wait for your go.Great that 8 people can play at the same time but it's also a good game to play on your own. Good for all ages to play together.
bananagram -you don't have to be good with words Posted 13 February 2009 Great game , quick to play , each game tends to last 5 minutes , can be played by all ages , you don't have to be a brilliant speller , infact that probably slows you down beacause you over complicate matters. You take the given number of letter , and try as quickly as possible to form them into interlocking words (like a crossword), if you don't like a letter you can 'dump' and take three back in return , first to use all their words is the winner and then everyone has to agree on their spelling , so correct spelling essential but not using complicate words.
Lots of quick family fun and easy to take away on holiday.
great for travel or home Posted 13 February 2009 I bought this instead of scrabble as I felt it offered more accessible and quicker play. The fact the banana is so portable is fantastic, it just pops in my handbag. We take ours to the restaurant/cafe and have a quick game whilst we wait. The structure is less formal than scrabble and games can be played to fit in with the time available. Younger children may find it easier because they work with their own crossword and that flexibility allows their game play to be more adaptable. They can achieve remarkable things by not being tied down to the traditional scrabble format. It may seem expensive for a few scrabble tiles and a yellow banana, but its portability more than makes up for that.
Banangrams the new scrabble! Posted 11 February 2009 This game is brilliant! Fast, fun and frenetic!
It is portable so can accompany you on trips and only needs floor space or a table to be played on. Adults and children can enjoy it together and it's even suitable for Dyslexics!
It's really simple to play.
Bananalicious Posted 07 February 2009 I was recommended this game and find it most excellent. It is perfect for 2 or many players, and ALL age groups. It is fast, furious and great fun, it improves your wordpower and spelling without a doubt. There is no waiting around to take a turn, each player makes their own word grids 'till the tiles are all gone then 1 calls 'BANANAS'.You can rearrange your own words to suit the 'pick ups'.It is very neat to store or to pack into luggage for games on holiday too.
