General development - Six months to one year
In the next six months your baby will make great strides.
He may not be walkingbut he will certainly be getting about in some fashion.
He will start to make talking noises and may have one or two words by his first birthday;
he will certainly understand a lot of what you are saying. Your baby will love to play with you,
and enjoy being among people, although if you leave him he is likely to be most upset. He will
laugh and pull faces, he will eat solid food, and if you give him the opportunity, he will drink
from the cup.
By the time baby reaches the second half of his first year he will be responsive to the
people around him as well as his surroundings and the games you can play with him will provide
lots of fun for you both. By the time he reaches his first birthday, your baby will have become a toddler.
